Few materials, chosen well.

  1. Full-grain leather: Italian leather that keeps its natural grain. It softens with wear and takes the shape of your foot — it gets better with time.
  2. Suede: soft and light, with a velvety touch. Made for warm days and evenings in the harbour.
  3. Hand stitching: the upper is stitched by hand, the way it has always been done in Montegranaro.
  4. In the box: every pair comes with the Prua dust bag, to keep it at its best when it rests.

Materials

At PRUA, materials are not a detail: they are the starting point. We have chosen a precise approach, consistent with our idea of contemporary boating style made to be worn often: PRUA shoes are entirely made of leather. Not for show, but because the right leather changes everything—in the feel, in the sensation on the foot, and in the way the shoe is experienced day after day.

We use the finest quality leathers, selected to feel good from the very first wear and to maintain their character over time. Leather has one quality that matters to us more than any other: it becomes personal. It adapts to the rhythm of the person wearing it, reflects how it is used without losing its identity, and provides a natural feel that “colder” materials simply cannot offer.

When we say “all leather”, we mean it as a substantial choice: leather is the protagonist not only on the outside, but throughout the entire experience. It is what allows PRUA to stay true to its most tangible promise: a comfortable, dependable shoe, ready for on and off the boat. On the boat, leather provides a warm, secure feel; off the boat, it adds understated elegance and a versatility that pairs effortlessly.

For PRUA, “quality” means selection and consistency, not empty phrases. It means reducing the unnecessary and choosing materials that make sense in real-life use: in warm weather, in cooler conditions, on long days, and while travelling. It is also about care: a high-quality leather, treated with attention, can accompany you for years and remain beautiful when properly maintained.

That is why we also believe in transparency: on each product page, you will find specific information about the leathers used for each model, along with useful guidance to help you make an informed choice. And to keep your leather looking its best over time, you will find dedicated advice on the “Leather Care” page. PRUA was born from a simple decision: to put the material at the centre and build around it an essential boat shoe, entirely made of leather, designed to be genuinely worn.
