Prua. The bow — the part of the boat that meets the sea first.

In Montegranaro, in Italy’s Marche region, shoes have been made by hand for generations. Here, between the hills and the Adriatic, Prua is made: moccasins and boat shoes in Italian leather, cut and stitched by hand, finished one pair at a time.

Each model is named after a wind of the compass rose, and each colour carries its degree on the compass. Shoes for those who live by the sea: the dock in the morning, the deck at noon, the harbour at night.
